Basketball in the 90s brought out the sport’s best. From the magic of entertainment, cooler uniforms and tennis to trash talks, more closed and physical games and a lot of rivalry.

Also known as the golden age, this era earned fans and sports enthusiasts eternal 'characters' - names like Michigan Wolverines 'Fabolous 5', Detroit Pistons "Bad Boys" and Golden State Warriors 'The Run TMC', trio that it certainly paved the way for today's GSW to shine alongside Stephen Curry and Clay Thompson's “Splash Brothers”.

Formed by Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin, “The Run TMC”, became known for his fun and offensive moves, but lasted only two seasons between 1989-1990 and 1990-1991.

In its first season, “The Run TMC” showed its true colors and what it was capable of. Hardaway averaged 14.1 points per game and was the leader in assists with an average of 8.7 per game and today is the third of all time in assists in the history of the Warriors with 3,926. The fact that Mullin had already played four seasons before the trio was consolidated contributed to having 26.5 points per game in the 1988-89 season and today is the fifth of all time in the history of the Warriors in points (16,235) and 3 points (590).

In the following season, Hardway continued to increase his performance and scores approximately 22.9 points per game, an average that landed the trio's in the playoffs. Richmond, continued to intimidate with his accurate plays, which earned him 23.9 points per game, the second highest average of his career. The GS Warriors won the San Antonio Spurs in the first round, but that reality changed when they met the Lakers of Magic Johnson.

With the Warriors eliminated in the 4-1 playoff semifinals, the trio would not last much longer, mainly due to Mitch Richmond's negotiation with the Sacramento Kings for the 1991-92 season.

After the end of "The Run TMC", the three members played for other teams where they had just as much success and recognition. Both have been honored by their respective peers with their shirts being retired: Mullin for the Warriors, Tim Hardway for the Miami Heat and Richmond for the Sacramento Kings who was also the only one to win an NBA championship in 2002 with the Los Angeles Lakers.
