After the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the NBA decided to resume their games in a model today known as the “bubble”, which has been explained by STREETOPIA. For such restart to be successful, no fan could attend the games in person, bringing the risk of virus contamination down to zero. But what’s the trick of not having the fans physically present in the arenas without losing the atmosphere of a live game surrounded by people?
In partnership with Microsoft, the NBA created the "Virtual Cheerleading", allowing fans from all over the world to watch the matches live on their computer screens. Participation is free, limited to 1 ticket per game with the bonus of several activities such as interaction with other people in the crowd, replay of plays at halftime and the possibility to "sit" alongside former players and celebrities. To be part of this, it is necessary to download the Microsoft Teams app and register on each NBA team's platform
