Designed by Tinker Hatfield and worn by Michael Jordan during the 1988-1989 NBA season, the Nike Air Jordan 4 is certainly one of the most iconic sneakers ever conceived.
For the successor to the coveted Nike Air Jordan 3, Tinker Hatfield used mesh overlays on the side panels and a large flap on the heel that allowed for an even larger Nike Air logo than previous models, while still retaining the legendary Jumpman on the tongue and visible cushioning near the heel.
The model was the first (and only) Jordan (at that time) to present the iconic "Flight" logo on the tongue, which was also used in other shoes, such as Nike Air Flight 89, Nike Air Flight Lite, Nike Air Solo Flight, Nike Air Flight One Way, Nike Air Flight Huarache, among others.
The Nike Air Jordan 4 was launched for the first time in 4 colors: Black Cement, White Cement, Military Blue and Fire Red which is set to drop on November 20.
