The presence of any sport in urban centers, especially in regions with limited resources, essentially functions as an important inclusive and social transformation tool.

In addition to the health benefits it brings, sports, for some people, can represent security, well-being, hope and a new direction on the horizon of those who live a reality full of limitations, in which survival is a first priority.

Through the social project conceived by basketball lovers Fernando Andrade and Alexandre Vampy, 'On Fire Basketball' arrived with the objective of renovating public courts on the outskirts of Diadema and delivering them to the communities that use them as a way to encourage the practice of basketball, sports and re-educate people about the importance of preserving public spaces.

In a recent interview for a sports program, Alexandre stated: “The more we manage to bring young people onto the courts, on way or the other, we are taking out of the streets empty-headed children who could be anywhere, learning and doing wrong things...”

The project, which has the collaboration of the city hall, has partnered companies and has also gained community support, and its intention is not only to populate the entire municipality located in the greater São Paulo area with free and safe places to practice basketball, but also in other spread it to other regions.
