LEBRON JAMES INJURY UPDATE

This last weekend LeBron James missed his third game in a roll and started a treatment in Los Angeles with the close follow-up of the NBA and the Laker’s medical team.

James had an MRI on his left knee which revealed an unusual swelling in addition to constant pains he had been complaining about even when there was no apparent injury. His doctor said it is a condition called general swelling, which occurs when it compromises more than one muscle or tissue of the knee structure at the same time.

Furthermore, the medical seems to be skeptical when the pain goes away due to medicine intake, but the swelling persists even with medication and, in some instances, the general condition of his left knee worsens.

Right after the MRI, Frank Vogel said he had spoken to the doctors and that James would be out indefinitely out until the swelling goes away completely, stating that the doctors suggested that if such condition is not properly treated it would potentially snowball into something much more serious.

It seems that the Los Angeles Lakers are temporarily out of luck with injuries as Anthony Davis had just returned from a long medical leave.

In the beginning of the season James had already missed about 13 games because of an abdominal strain. His importance for the Lakers is paramount, as he had been averaging 29.1 points per game this season, that when combined to other stats, places him in his best efficiency season ever. This could be further confirmed when we factor in that last week the Lakers lost both games against the Atlanta Hawks and the Charlotte Hornets when James was watching from the stands.

Fingers crossed for our star’s return.
