There are several initiatives aimed at encouraging the practice of basketball among young people in the United States. Whether through inclusive social projects that condition education to sport or through the creation of student and amateur leagues, such as Nike Elite Youth Basketball, also known as Nike EYBL.

The league was created in April 2010 with the objective that the teams of the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union), one of the oldest American amateur leagues, participate in a national basketball championship for boys and girls. In its first edition, approximately 42 teams participated in the tournament, in the following editions, categories were created especially for players aged 17 and under - Players such as Chris Paul had their team registered (CP3 All-Stars), as well as Russell Westbrook (Team Why Not?)

Considered one of the top amateur basketball tournaments for young people, the last edition of 'The EYBL' took place recently between the 22nd and 24th of April, and as expected, it was a success.
