"They are crazy!".

Bruno had just left the court. A quiet 51-42 victory for Cohab 1 Elite over Basquete Rosa Branca in the teams' debut at the 2022 Centauro Streetopia Open.

The speech was dedicated for the parents, Nathanael and Filomena. The father didn't stop yelling or whistling throughout the 40 minutes of the game. It was a shout at the time of the opponent's free throw when a play went wrong or when the son scored.

The ritual is already old. Now 24 years old, Bruno has been accompanied by his parents since he was eight, when he started playing basketball.

“We have always encouraged him and the team. Win or lose, it doesn't matter. We are always with our son, ”said Nathanael, on the few times when he was speaking more quietly and not shouting in the crowd.

“He always liked us to accompany him. (Other people) They got annoyed, but then they liked it. I always made friends. Then he would go to the opposing crowd and talk to them,” he added.

The bleachers went crazy with every whistle that echoed throughout the Streetopia building. There were laughter and questions: “How can you whistle so high?”.

However, it is not just the father who has a traditional ritual. Filomena, Bruno's mother, always carries a notebook. Several sheets used. In it, she adds the points of each of her colleagues and her kid. A fully manual scoring table.

Nathanael and Filomena want to keep screaming, rooting, whistling and writing in their notebooks. The more that happens, the more certain that Bruno and Cohab 1 Elite will go far in the tournament.
