The luxury brand Gucci has now engaged in another undertaking that is part of its projects set to be launched later this year. It is a partnership between Faceit and the World Health Organization for launching an academy for video games focused on the well-being and mental health of its participants.
The program, named Gucci Gaming Academy, marks the first initiative by a luxury fashion brand in the gaming world. Gucci will select candidates based on game performance and interviews that assess their values and skills. Once chosen, players officially become members of the gaming academy for twelve months.
According to the vice president of new businesses and president of Gucci Vault, Nicolas Oudinot, the brand becomes avant-garde with this movement in that particular segment, and as part of its mission, it intends to continue building relationships with new communities in an authentic and organic way, in addition to the intention of supporting the new generation of future players.
Gucci and Faceit will collaborate with the World Health Organization to ensure gamers receive broad support to take care of both their mental and physical health, improve their gaming skills, as well as serve as a foundation for supporting further researches.
