For those who don’t live and breathe basketball as a professional career it’s really quite hard to explain the importance of the NBA Summer League, but perhaps the case of Alabama native power forward Garrison Brooks reaffirms the value this league has for many players.
Garrison Brooks was not selected in the 2022 NBA Draft and opinions varied immensely of his value playing at the professional league despite the fact that he had shone throughout his basketball collegiate career even earning the Most Improved Player Award with the Tar Heels, averaging 9.2 points and 6.0 rebounds.
After participating in the NBA Summer League this year, the New York Knicks signed a contract with Garrison Brooks at the end of this week, none of the executives were against the deal, thus proving how the summer league changes the path for players and teams, even when it’s related to a college basketball star.
The New York Knicks official press release welcoming the 23-year-old Alabaman star was announced yesterday, September 23, 2022. As per the franchise policy, the amount of the agreement has not been disclosed.
